• Jonathan to job for several hours. For the first time, I simply drop him off and leave him on his own
• Fill out forms for Smith Flat Charter School
• Pick up Jonathan and yak with Grady
• Lunch is fast food
• Piano lessons
• Jonathan off to spend the night with Lynch brothers

• Jonathan continues his summer job for Grady.  It's hot and dirty, but everyday he works a little bit longer.

• Grady asks if Mary would like a summer job - he needs someone to walk his new dog, Lewcy, while he is at work.

• Mary starts her new job this very afternoon.

• Morning, Jonathan works, I watch.

• Afternoon, all three of us talk a leisurely walk.

Actually, it was a very interesting walk with lots of photos.

• Jonathan spends 2 hours at his new summer job, clearing a neighbor's land.
• While he worked, I sit in the shade taking pictures

• JR's parents drip drop him off; he'll spend the night with us.
• I take Jonathan & JR to the pool for the afternoon.  As always, the place is practically deserted; I'm mystified that kids don't spend their summer here.
• Signed up for webspace at Network Solutions; they already hold my domain registrations, and I am unhappy with Lypha.

July 28 2010

• Jonathan reports for his first day at his first job (cleaning a neighbor's yard).  There are 5 acres to clean and clear and cut.

The guy living to my west has a bald head, a white goatee, and a humongous Great Dane.
The guy living to my east has a bald head, a white goatee, and a humongous Great Dane.


• We haven't heard from Mary;  no call to be rescued from summer camp
• We finished the last lecture, Lecture 48, of "History of England from the Tudors to the Stuarts" (Teaching Company DVD)

• Terrific series.
